asana.jpgThe word asana literally means a posture. Yogasanas are means by which one can transform the body and mind through a subtle practice of directing one’s energy and focusing in a particular direction to achieve physical and mental well-being.
At Yogasamhita, we offer  Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, Yoga Therapy and Back Bending Classes.

Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga (Hatha meaning “effort”, “force” in Sanskrit) is derived from the Raja Yoga and emphasizes on the physical practice including the asanas, in order to balance the body and mind. It is not a mere physical exercise system but a phenomenal process to prepare the body for greater possibilities.   

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga

Ashtanga Yoga is a system of yoga recorded by the sage Vamana Rishi in the Yoga Korunta, an ancient manuscript “said to contain lists of many different groupings of asanas, as well as highly original teachings on vinyasa, drishti, bandhas, mudras, and philosophy” (Jois 2002 xv). Back Bending

These classes aim at developping or deepening a back bending practice in a safe and individualized manner. The classes are adapted to each student so as to take into account their flexibility and physical specificities. This class is not suited for complete beginners in yoga asana.
